This little pastoral scene originated from a photo I took while driving to work one day. It's oil on canvas and 16 x 20 inches. I was taken in by the misty morning light and the subtle spring colors. I knew I'd enjoy painting the trees in the background with their muted colors and soft edges. It's always fun to try and depict the dense atmosphere in a convincing way. I simplified the foreground a good bit, taking out a fence and some extraneous overgrowth.  After painting it, I decided it needed a few cows in the distance and some wildflowers. I hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I did painting it.
