I was looking back over my blog posts and noticed that I forgot to post an update to my "Jesse" painting I did a couple months back. I posted the original version on my favorite artist website, wetcanvas.com, and got some good feedback on how to make it better. I made the suggested changes and a few more subtle improvements, and here's the final version. My boss bought the painting and has it hanging in his office. =0)
Here's the demo painting I did during the workshop (and tweaked a bit when I got back home). I kinda like it. Maybe I'll hang it on my own wall for a bit.

Last Saturday, I spent the day teaching a 1-day landscape oil painting workshop. It was great fun, and we all learned a bit more about examining a scene and figuring out what to leave out to make a stronger, more interesting composition. The slightly blurry photo here shows most of the students in the class (because I forgot to get one before people started leaving at the end of the day).
